Do you want to slow down life just a little? If your answer is yes, we invite you to make your casual approach to Sherwood County Park. The setting is remote and the fishing is fine. You will feel like you're a hundred miles away from the rest of the world. As with all Clark County campgrounds, recent improvements to camping and day use areas will help you to enjoy a quality outdoor recreation experience. Campsites are available for reservation May 1st through September 30th. Self-registration camping is available throughout the remainder of the year but please note that campground facilities are extremely limited during this time and we cannot guarantee access during these months. Our most recent improvements in the summer of 2018 include a shower building with flush toilets and a nine hole disc golf course. As with all of our campgrounds, we do offer special rates for those who have extended stays. Please check out our Extended Stay Camping Policy rates for more information.     Bike Levis/Trow Mound Trail Map Levis/Trow Mounds provide more than 24 miles of designated single track off-road bicycle trails and an additional 17 miles of cross-country ski trails. Levis even provides winter biking opportunities for the fat-tire enthusiasts! Entirely located on county forestlands, Levis/Trow Mounds provides diverse riding conditions ranging from easy to very difficult trail loops. Volunteer assistance on maintaining and developing Levis/Trow Mounds continues to be an important part of the trail system. During the winter months Fat Bike riders will find 13.5 miles of groomed single track for their enjoyment. Destination Trails Mountain biking at the Levis and Trow Mound Trail and the surrounding county forest is some of the best anywhere in the Midwest. With trails ranging from beginner to advanced, the off-road enthusiast will find riding here well worth the trip. The more advanced trails are located ascending both Levis and Trow Mounds, while intermediate and easy trails lie near the bases and surrounding forest . Riders will encounter some sand, rock and difficult climbing and descending on the more technical routes. Deer, turkeys, fishers, coyote and even a stray wolf can be spotted among the forested 300 foot tall sandstone bluffs. Facilities Include large parking areas, water, flush toilets & showers. Several picnic areas are located along the trail and at the Levis Mound Visitor Center. Cost When mountain biking at Levis/Trow Mound Recreational Area a trail pass must be purchased.     Office of Finance Audit Reports Budget Employee Information Duties The scope of duties can be represented, but is not limited to, the following functions: Budget / Accounting Under direction of the finance committee, our department uses established procedures, formats, and priorities in preparing, presenting, and executing the county budget. We assist the committee and board with reporting and financial planning. The office also serves as the internal auditor and assists with the annual independent audit, preparing supporting reports, and providing the management discussion and analysis. The Office of Finance prepares the annual financial informational return to the WI Department of Revenue. We provide advice, counsel, and direction to all department heads to the extent necessary to ensure effective administration and implementation of approved fiscal policies, plans, and programs. Payroll / Benefits Administration The Office of Finance prepares payroll for all county employees under six different groupings of employees and seven unions. Payroll staff administers employee benefits based on related employee policies and contracts. The office completes required biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (federal, state, county and internal). Federal and state laws are followed regarding payroll and benefit payments. Accounts Payable Our office works with all of the departments to issue weekly payments to our vendors. We also serve as the internal auditor and process all payments per policies. The finance office issues 1099 forms as necessary for vendor payments.

    Knobby Ridge Knobby Ridge m otorcycle trails are currently CLOSED for spring thaw or until conditions are favorable. Updated: 3/18/2026 Logging activity is taking place on the Knobby Ridge trail system. Please use caution as some trails may be temporarily blocked at times. Reminder: All trail fee requirements are temporarily suspended due to a WDNR Grant. Trails east of Bachelors Ave are permanently CLOSED and are no longer part of the trail system as of 5/14/2024 About Clark County is proud to offer one of the finest off-road motorcycle trail systems in Wisconsin. 8.2 miles of looped trail meander through a portion of the nearly 135,000 acre Clark County Forest. A convenient trail-head is located 8 miles west of Neillsville on Hwy 10. Trail-head includes youth loop, intensive use area, water and a toilet facility. Schedule Trails are closed seasonally each spring, March 16th through May 14. There are currently active timber sales taking place at Knobby Ridge as well. (updated 5/10/24) Trails O pen May 15 - October 31 December 15 - March 15 Trails Closed November 1 - December 14 March 16 - May 14 Fees (All trail fee requirements are temporarily suspended due to a WDNR Grant) When riding in Knobby Ridge a trail pass must be purchased. There is a self-registration station at the trailhead, payment is cash or check (made out to Clark County Treasurer). In addition, overnight accommodations are available nearby at county campgrounds.
