Mission: It is the Mission of the Clark County Health Department to promote health, prevent disease, and protect the residents of the county through partnerships and population-based services.
Vision: Safe environments, thriving communities, healthy people
The Clark County Health Department routinely samples four Clark County beaches for levels of E. coli from Memorial Day to Labor Day. These E. coli levels indicate if the water is contaminated with other more harmful organisms. These organisms are unable to be seen with the human eye unlike other organisms like blue green algae that produce cyanotoxins. If the water looks like pea soup there is a good chance that these cyanotoxins are present and you should not enter the water and either should your pets. If you see an advisory sign, closed sign or if the water looks like pea soup you should think twice before entering the water.
To report a public health emergency or communicable disease after hours, please contact Clark County Dispatch at (715) 743-3157.
