Clark County Information Technology has used computer equipment for sale. These are being offered to the public at a reduced cost.

You may purchase a laptop or desktop computer by completing the Used Computer Equipment Sales Agreement and mailing or delivering the form to the Clark County Clerk's Office.

The purchaser must agree to the terms of service and acknowledge the following:

All computers are sold without a hard drive. It is the buyer's responsibility to purchase a storage device and install an operating system.

Clark County Information Technology will not provide support for these systems once purchased.

Purchaser hereby certifies that equipment will be disposed of or recycled properly following local, State, or Federal laws as applicable.

What does "All computers are sold without a hard drive" mean?

Due to regulations, all computer information storage devices must be destroyed when decommissioned. Imagine if a hacker was able to recover a wiped storage device with tax payer information on it. Therefore, these are sold without the device that runs an operating system like Windows. This means you will need to purchase a storage device and operating system separately.
How much extra will it cost to buy a hard drive and operating system?

The price of system storage and operating systems varies greatly depending on what you get and where you get it from. However, the low price of the equipment is meant to offset the cost and still give county residents a deal on a computer.
